Pacific American Coal Ltd. on Jan. 23 said it appointed Mark Lochtenberg as managing director, effective Feb. 1, to push forward the development of the company's flagship Elko coking coal project in British Columbia.

Lochtenberg was previously co-head of Glencore Plc unit Glencore International AG's worldwide coal division and served as the executive chairman and founding managing director at Cockatoo Coal Ltd.

Additionally, Lochtenberg serves as the chairman of Equus Ltd. and a director of rail infrastructure group Australian Transport and Energy Corridor Pty. Ltd.
