Life Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, came to ¥24.72 per share, a gain of 44.2% from ¥17.14 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.16 billion, a gain of 28.9% from ¥898.1 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 0.8% from 0.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 10.0% year over year to ¥145.58 billion from ¥132.30 billion, and total operating expenses grew 9.9% from the prior-year period to ¥143.73 billion from ¥130.80 billion.
Reported net income grew 26.9% on an annual basis to ¥928.0 million, or ¥19.81 per share, from ¥731.0 million, or ¥13.95 per share.
As of Jan. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.84.
