Bombay Cycle & Motor fiscal Q3 profit climbs 14.5% YOY

Bombay Cycle & Motor Agency Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to 21.91 Indian rupees per share, an increase of 14.6% from 19.12 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 4.4 million rupees, a gain of 14.5% from 3.9 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 23.9% from 20.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined year over year to 18.6 million rupees from 19.2 million rupees, and total operating expenses fell 7.8% year over year to 14.2 million rupees from 15.4 million rupees.

Reported net income rose 16.7% year over year to 4.9 million rupees, or 24.19 rupees per share, from 4.2 million rupees, or 20.72 rupees per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to 62.03 Indian rupees.
