Toho fiscal Q4 profit climbs YOY

Toho Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Jan. 31 was ¥41.66 per share, compared with ¥41.30 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥454.9 million, compared with ¥451.0 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 0.8% from 0.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue came to ¥55.31 billion, compared with ¥55.19 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses came to ¥54.53 billion, compared with ¥54.40 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income came to ¥323.0 million, or ¥29.58 per share, compared to a loss of ¥57.0 million, or a loss of ¥5.22 per share, in the prior-year period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥142.85 per share, an increase of 17.5% from ¥121.60 per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was ¥1.56 billion, a rise of 17.5% from ¥1.33 billion in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue rose from the prior-year period to ¥209.00 billion from ¥204.39 billion, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to ¥206.37 billion from ¥202.10 billion.

The company said reported net income rose 93.8% year over year to ¥1.00 billion, or ¥91.58 per share, in the full year, from ¥516.0 million, or ¥47.25 per share.
