CoreCivic Inc. said it is implementing the Service Employees International Union's proposal to include respect for inmate and detainee human rights in its incentive compensation arrangements for its senior executives.
The prison-focused real estate investment trust said it made the decision following discussions with the union.
The REIT also noted that Robert Dennis tendered his resignation from its board after failing to receive a majority of votes for his reelection at the company's May 16 annual shareholder meeting. CoreCivic said its board will review the tendered resignation and the decision will be publicly disclosed no later than Aug. 14.
