Apple deletes Infowars from app store

Apple Inc. deleted Alex Jones' Infowars app from its App Store, The New York Times reported Sept. 7.

Apple removed the app from conservative conspiracy theorist Jones as its policies restrict app content that is "offensive, insensitive, upsetting, intended to disgust or in exceptionally poor taste," an Apple spokeswoman said. The spokeswoman declined to give additional details.

Apple's move will not impact iPhone users who already downloaded the Infowars app, but it restricts more users from downloading it.

Content from Jones has also been pulled from other social media platforms recently.
