Invenergy picks GE Renewable to supply turbines for Texas wind farm

Invenergy LLC selected GE Renewable Energy to supply its GE2.5-116 90-meter turbines for Invenergy's wind farm in Reagan County, Texas.

The 300-MW Santa Rita wind project will consist of 120 wind turbines. Some of the turbines will include blades manufactured by LM Wind Power.

Upon its completion in 2018, the facility will sell its power to the City of Denton under a 20-year power purchase agreement providing power to approximately 102,500 homes.

LM Wind Power was recently acquired by General Electric Co. subsidiary GE Renewable Energy.
