CVC Capital Partners Ltd. and Six Nations are in exclusive discussions for a possible acquisition by the private equity firm of a 15% stake in the commercial arm of the rugby unions of England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Italy and France, BBC reported, citing a statement from Six Nations.
CVC previously proposed to acquire a 30% stake in the Six Nations Championship rugby tournament and the autumn internationals through a £500 million bid submitted in March.
BBC added that the investment firm is also considering an approach to SANZAAR, which represents the Rugby Championship participated in by New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and South Africa.
