Tomy Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to a loss of ¥5.34 per share, compared with 65 sen per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥502.4 million, compared with income of ¥61.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin declined to negative 1.6% from 0.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined 12.7% year over year to ¥31.86 billion from ¥36.51 billion, and total operating expenses declined 10.9% on an annual basis to ¥32.45 billion from ¥36.41 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥1.98 billion, or a loss of ¥21.01 per share, compared to a loss of ¥1.04 billion, or a loss of ¥11.01 per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Aug. 8, US$1 was equivalent to ¥101.85.
