Lawmakers push for probe into system glitch at Bank of the Philippine Islands

Philippine lawmakers are pushing for a congressional probe into an internal system error at Bank of the Philippine Islands, as well as the stability of internal systems at the country's banks in general, ABS-CBN News reported June 8.

According to a resolution by lawmakers at the House of Representatives, the Committee on Banks and Financial Intermediaries should look into the stability of bank internal systems and look at the root-cause of the system glitch at Bank of the Philippine Islands.

Access to the bank's ATMS and mobile banking services have been restored June 8, the bank said in a same-day tweet. However, high traffic volumes may still cause intermittent difficulties for customers in their mobile banking services, the bank added.
