Meiji Holdings fiscal Q3 profit climbs 17.3% YOY

Meiji Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2016, amounted to ¥131.00 per share, a gain of 17.3% from ¥111.64 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥19.29 billion, a gain of 17.3% from ¥16.44 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 5.9% from 5.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose on an annual basis to ¥327.30 billion from ¥322.06 billion, and total operating expenses totaled ¥296.68 billion, compared with ¥296.17 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income increased 21.4% on an annual basis to ¥21.94 billion, or ¥149.06 per share, from ¥18.07 billion, or ¥122.77 per share.

As of Feb. 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.09.
