Natura Cosméticos to create new corporate entity

Natura Cosméticos SA will create a new corporate entity called Natura &Co to bring its various businesses, including U.K.-based The Body Shop and Australia-based Aesop, under a single umbrella, the Financial Times reported Feb. 6.

The Brazilian personal products company acquired The Body Shop from L'Oréal SA in September 2017 and Aesop in 2013, the report added.

The company would focus on creating "a thin, leaner corporate organization" to increase sales, the report said, citing Roberto Marques, the group's executive chairman overseeing the brands.

"This is really about the creation of the group and its governance by keeping, pretty much, the three companies highly autonomous, with each of the companies run by their own CEOs, their executive committees," Marques told the newspaper.
