CNBV: Mexican commercial banks' profit up 11.8% YOY in February

Mexican commercial banks posted profits totaling 17.38 billionMexican pesos in February, up 11.8% from a year earlier, according to data fromthe CNBV.

Total assets for the sector grew 13% compared to the prior-yearperiod, hitting 8.049 trillion pesos, the regulator said in an April 12 statement.ROE came in at 12.58%.

The figures include 46 institutions in operation.

As of April 12, US$1 wasequivalent to 17.57 Mexican pesos.
