Fotowatio Renewable Ventures BV, or FRV, announced its first battery project in the U.K. as part of a long-term plan to invest in power storage.
The project will be located at Holes Bay, in Dorset, England, and will house lithium-ion batteries with a combined capacity of 15 MWh, connected to the Southern Electric Power Distribution PLC distribution network.
Construction is expected to start in January 2020, with commissioning set to follow within the next three months, according to a Dec. 4 news release.
Based in Madrid and owned by Abdul Latif Jameel Energy and Environmental Services of Saudi Arabia, FRV specializes in solar power development.
