DPS Resources fiscal Q1 profit climbs YOY

DPS Resources Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to 592,500 ringgits, a gain from 256,250 ringgits in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin rose to 5.7% from 2.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell on an annual basis to 10.4 million ringgits from 10.5 million ringgits, and total operating expenses fell 6.1% year over year to 9.3 million ringgits from 9.9 million ringgits.

Reported net income grew from the prior-year period to 948,000 ringgits, or 0 sen per share, from 410,000 ringgits, or 0 sen per share.

As of Aug. 28, US$1 was equivalent to 4.18 ringgits.
