France's trade deficit widened to €5.19 billion in June from €3.28 billion recorded in the previous month, data from the Department of Statistics and Foreign Trade Studies showed.
Month over month, the value of exports declined 4.9% to €41.91 billion and imports edged down 0.6% to €47.10 billion in June, according to the French foreign trade statistics agency.
On a quarterly basis, exports edged up 0.1% while imports fell 0.2%.
This follows nearly a week after France's GDP growth for the second quarter missed analyst estimates amid a slowdown in household consumption.
