Enterprise to build Texas chemical plant; Candor Midstream starts up gas pipe

Enterprise, LyondellBasell strike deals to develop new chemical plant in Texas

Enterprise Products Partners LP and chemical company LyondellBasell Industries NV executed long-term contracts supporting the construction of a second propane dehydrogenation plant at Enterprise's complex in Mont Belvieu, Texas. The second plant, called PDH 2, would be capable of consuming up to 35,000 barrels per day of propane and producing up to 1.65 billion pounds per year of polymer-grade propylene, an NGL-derived chemical feedstock, according to a Sept. 26 news release.

Candor Midstream begins service on SCOOP-to-Texas gas gathering pipeline

Private equity-backed Candor Midstream LLC opened for commercial service its rich gas gathering pipeline system carrying gas from Oklahoma's SCOOP play to markets in North Texas. The SCOOP-to-North-Texas pipeline system comprises about 100 miles of 20-inch gas gathering pipeline and runs from Carter County, Okla., across the Oklahoma-Texas border, and ends near processing facilities in Bridgeport, Texas.

Pa. county threatens to have Mariner East NGL pipeline declared nuisance

Unless Sunoco Pipeline LP fixes problems with the construction and operation of the Mariner East 2 natural gas liquids pipeline, the district attorney of Chester County, Pa., said he will have the courts declare the pipeline a public nuisance. Sunoco and parent company Energy Transfer LP have 60 days from the notice of the planned nuisance action to correct permit violations, cover two exposed sections of pipeline in county creeks, and remedy five areas where drilling muds were spilled.

EQT's midstream partners oppose EPA plan to end methane emission limits

Equitrans Midstream Corp. and EQM Midstream Partners LP, midstream operators that handle the bulk of the nation's largest natural gas producer's output, said they oppose the Trump administration's proposed rollback of methane emissions regulations. The companies, which gather, process and transport the bulk of EQT Corp.'s more than 4 Bcfe per day of natural gas and NGL production, said eliminating the methane-emissions limits on upstream and midstream operators was "steps backward."
