Macquarie Group Ltd. is on the lookout for acquisition targets in Europe's asset management sector, the Financial Times reported, citing Shemara Wikramanayake, head of the group's asset management arm.
The Australian group regularly considers how to add a third operation to its existing Australasian and U.S. fund management operations, Wikramanayake said. She declined to comment on potential targets, but said any deal would need to fit with Macquarie's teams.
Macquarie Group's asset management arm is one of the companies interested in acquiring Old Mutual Plc's asset management arm, Old Mutual Global Investors.
