Otsuka Kagu H1 profit falls YOY

Otsuka Kagu Ltd. said its first-half normalized net income amounted to ¥20.61 per share, a decline of 29.9% from ¥29.40 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥382.0 million, a decline of 29.9% from ¥545.0 million in the prior-year period.

Total revenue totaled ¥30.15 billion, compared with ¥29.86 billion in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses rose from the prior-year period to ¥29.66 billion from ¥29.11 billion.

Reported net income fell 51.6% on an annual basis to ¥359.2 million, or ¥19.38 per share, from ¥742.5 million, or ¥40.06 per share.
