Plant design improvements at W Resources Plc's flagship La Parrilla tungsten mine in Spain will allow the mine ore feed to be expanded from the initial 1.95 million tonnes per annum run-of-mine to 3.5 million tonnes per annum run-of-mine.
The company on Jan. 19 said it undertook design improvements at the Crusher and the Jig/Mill plants, which will allow the expansion at low incremental cost and minimum plant shutdown time.
W Resources also said it agreed to terms with vendors for financing, supplying and installing the equipment packages required to reach the initial throughput capacity later this year. It has applied for a grant from the government of Spain's Extremadura region for part of the financing.
The company started tungsten concentrate production from the La Parrilla project in September 2016 and made the first shipment the next month.
