KKR to invest $1B with Altavair AirFinance

KKR & Co. agreed to buy a 50% stake in Altavair AirFinance, a commercial aviation finance company.

Additionally, the private equity firm's credit and infrastructure funds will invest $1 billion to acquire commercial aircraft in partnership with Altavair AirFinance. The initial investment will be spent on acquiring six cargo aircraft on long-term lease with a group of airline counterparties.

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett advised KKR on this transaction, while Milbank advised Altavair AirFinance.
