Medical System Network fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

Medical System Network Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 amounted to ¥5.47 per share, a decrease of 59.5% from ¥13.51 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥130.6 million, a decrease of 60.9% from ¥334.3 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.7% from 2.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 18.1% year over year to ¥17.77 billion from ¥15.04 billion, and total operating expenses increased 21.5% on an annual basis to ¥17.50 billion from ¥14.41 billion.

Reported net income fell 66.7% year over year to ¥72.0 million, or ¥3.01 per share, from ¥216.0 million, or ¥8.73 per share.
