Bukit Darah PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was 5.26 Sri Lankan rupees per share, an increase of 43.9% from 3.65 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 535.7 million rupees, an increase of 43.8% from 372.6 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.4% from 1.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 5.0% year over year to 22.59 billion rupees from 21.51 billion rupees, and total operating expenses grew 10.1% year over year to 19.13 billion rupees from 17.38 billion rupees.
Reported net income declined 47.0% from the prior-year period to 501.4 million rupees, or 4.92 rupees per share, from 945.5 million rupees, or 9.27 rupees per share.
As of Feb. 6, US$1 was equivalent to 132.96 Sri Lankan rupees.
