Diamond Electric fiscal Q3 profit climbs 8.1% YOY

Diamond Electric Mfg. Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥120.78 per share, a decrease of 27.3% from ¥166.15 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥323.9 million, an increase of 8.1% from ¥299.6 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 2.2% from 2.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 10.7% on an annual basis to ¥14.66 billion from ¥13.25 billion, and total operating expenses rose 11.4% on an annual basis to ¥14.34 billion from ¥12.87 billion.

Reported net income decreased 90.4% on an annual basis to ¥27.0 million, or 55 sen per share, from ¥282.0 million, or ¥156.38 per share.
