Pan Malaysia Q2 profit climbs YOY

Pan Malaysia Corp. Bhd. said its second-quarter normalized net income amounted to 1.5 million ringgits, an increase from 17,500 ringgits in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 8.6% from 0.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 19.9% on an annual basis to 17.0 million ringgits from 14.2 million ringgits, and total operating expenses grew 10.4% on an annual basis to 16.7 million ringgits from 15.2 million ringgits.

Reported net income rose year over year to 2.2 million ringgits, or 0 sen per share, from 106,000 ringgits, or 0 sen per share.

As of Aug. 19, US$1 was equivalent to 4.10 ringgits.
