Russian food retail group X5 Retail Group NV announced May 14 that it successfully accomplished the launch of a large-scale project to automate processes of demand-and-replenishment planning at its Perekrestok and Karusel stores and distribution centers, according to a news release.
The company said it has upgraded its core logistics, marketing and commerce procedures and employed JDA Software's end-to-end supply chain management software to improve efficiencies.
Algorithms and automation upgrades have increased the company's forecast accuracy by 17%, helping stores increase the availability of goods by 5%, X5 said. The company has also reduced inventory levels by 13%.
The JDA software also incorporates end-to-end inventory management, reviews of shortages, and automated generation of orders and supplies.
