Protective Life makes exec appointments

Protective Life Corp. has made a number of appointments, effective March 1.

Mike Temple was promoted to vice chairman of finance and risk, after serving as executive vice president of finance and risk and chief risk officer since joining the company in 2012. His overall responsibilities remain the same.

Scott Adams, who most recently worked as executive vice president and chief administrative officer, will take on a newly created role as executive vice president and chief digital and innovation officer, responsible for developing the company's digital strategy. He will assume overall responsibility for corporate branding efforts and will continue to oversee the corporate communications function.

Aaron Seurkamp was named senior vice president and life and annuity executive, replacing John Sawyer, who plans to retire in June. Seurkamp was most recently Protective's chief distribution officer for life and annuity.
