Intel Capital has made a strategic investment in Capsule8 Inc., a provider of cybersecurity solutions for production environments based on the Linux operating system.
The investment is worth $6.5 million, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data.
Capsule8 said it will use the fresh capital to expand its sales, marketing, product development and customer-facing initiatives.
With its investment, Intel Capital joins Capsule8's other existing investors such as ClearSky and Bessemer Venture Partners.
Intel Capital is the venture capital and private equity arm of U.S. tech giant Intel Corp.
