FERC clears MidAmerican purchase of Iowa wind farm

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission authorized MidAmerican Energy Co. to acquire the 80-MW Pocahontas Prairie wind farm in Pocahontas County, Iowa, from Gamesa Energy USA Inc. for undisclosed financial terms.

Under the transaction, the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA affiliate will also transfer interest in certain interconnection facilities and assign certain permits and material contracts related to the facility, according to a FERC filing.

MidAmerican Energy is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy. (FERC docket EC20-16)
