Several banks asked to file bad-loan plans with ECB by February-end

Several banks will have to present plans to the ECB by the end of February on how they will reduce their bad loans, Reuters reported Jan. 30, citing "a source familiar with the matter."

The source declined to name the banks, according to the report. This follows new guidance on nonperforming loans issued by the central bank in 2016.

Italian lenders UniCredit SpA and Banca Carige SpA have to present such plans by Feb. 28.
