Board chair, former CEO of Hallador Energy dies

Victor Stabio, 70, board chairman and former CEO of Hallador Energy Co., died March 7, according to a March 9 news release.

Stabio helped transform Hallador from a financially challenged oil and gas exploration company to a highly successful coal mining company and was able to convince Yorktown Partners LLC and Lubar & Co. Inc. to become shareholders along with brothers David and Steven Hardie, founding shareholders, the company said in the release.
