New Look Vision fiscal Q3 profit climbs 20.7% YOY

New Look Vision Group Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Sept. 24 was 16 Canadian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 18 cents per share.

EPS climbed 20.0% year over year from 13 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was C$2.2 million, a gain of 20.7% from C$1.8 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.4% from 4.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 18.3% year over year to C$49.0 million from C$41.4 million, and total operating expenses grew 19.8% from the prior-year period to C$44.5 million from C$37.2 million.

Reported net income came to C$2.1 million, or 15 cents per share, compared to a loss of C$688,460, or a loss of 5 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
