Shanta's measured, indicated resources at Singida gold project up 12%

Shanta Gold Ltd.'s measured and indicated resources at its Singida gold project in central Tanzania increased 12% to 381,000 ounces at 2.08 g/t, compared to 345,000 ounces at 2.09 g/t in the November 2017 estimate.

The project's JORC-compliant mineral resource at the project totals 12.3 million tonnes at 1.84 g/t gold containing 725,000 ounces.

The company said June 4 that ground geophysical work on the project will start early in the third quarter to test the potential of the 2-kilometer strike between the Cornpatch and Cornpatch West targets.

Mineralization is open at depth and along strike, and Shanta said it will soon start an exploration program to delineate further resources and upgrade the near-surface inferred resources at Cornpatch and Cornpatch West to measured and indicated categories.
