Fonterra appoints interim CEO

Fonterra Co-op Group Ltd. said Aug. 15 that it appointed Miles Hurrell as interim CEO, effective immediately.

Hurrell will succeed Theo Spierings, who is stepping down from his post. Spierings will work with Hurrell to ensure a smooth transition of leadership through to Sept. 1.

Prior to the appointment, Hurrell was COO of Fonterra's Farm Source unit.

In July, Fonterra appointed John Monaghan as Chairman after John Wilson resigned from the post due to health issues.
