CAICA Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Jan. 31 was 3 Japanese sen per share, compared with a loss of ¥2.88 per share in the first quarter ended June 30, 2014.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥8.8 million, compared with a loss of ¥237.8 million in the first quarter ended June 30, 2014.
The normalized profit margin rose to 0.6% from negative 1.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell 90.6% on an annual basis to ¥1.49 billion from ¥15.75 billion, and total operating expenses declined 90.9% on an annual basis to ¥1.43 billion from ¥15.62 billion.
Reported net income came to ¥73.2 million, or 28 sen per share, compared to a loss of ¥343.0 million, or a loss of ¥4.15 per share, in the first quarter ended June 30, 2014.
As of March 16, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.67.
