Zodiac JRD fiscal Q1 profit climbs YOY

Zodiac JRD MKJ Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to 38 Indian paise per share, an increase from 18 paise per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.0 million rupees, a gain from 943,750 rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.1% from 3.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 58.7% year over year to 48.2 million rupees from 30.4 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 56.5% year over year to 45.7 million rupees from 29.2 million rupees.

Reported net income rose on an annual basis to 2.5 million rupees, or 49 paise per share, from 1.1 million rupees, or 21 paise per share.

As of July 29, US$1 was equivalent to 60.26 Indian rupees.
