Dominion Generation gets FERC approval to purchase NC solar farm

A Dominion Generation Inc. subsidiary received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to purchase the 74-MW Wilkinson Solar Project from a subsidiary of Invenergy LLC.

The project is under construction in Beaufort County, N.C. It will sell its output to Microsoft Corp. under a 15-year power purchase agreement once it becomes operational.

The project will be interconnected to a transmission system owned by Dominion Energy Inc. subsidiary Virginia Electric and Power Co., which does business as Dominion Energy Virginia. Dominion Generation is owned by Dominion Energy. (FERC docket EC19-134)
