Maryland utilities have issued requests of proposals for the supply of wholesale electric power to meet their standard offer service obligations in their service territories.
The utilities are requesting proposals totaling 4,340 MW, including 739 MW for Potomac Edison Co., 1,729 MW for Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., 451 MW for Delmarva Power & Light Co. and 1,421 MW for Potomac Electric Power Co. The RFPs will consist of supply contracts ranging in term from three to 24 months.
For Exelon Corp. subsidiaries BGE, Delmarva Power and Pepco, the bidding for the 24-month residential contracts and small commercial type I contracts will occur in October 2019 and April 2020.
For FirstEnergy Corp. subsidiary Potomac Edison, the bidding for 24-month residential commercial type I contracts will occur in October 2019 and January 2020.
For all utilities, the bidding for the larger commercial type II contracts will occur in October 2019, and January, April and June 2020. The contract terms will be three-months.
A joint utility pre-bid seminar will be held on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. ET.
