Google wins dismissal of YouTube censorship suit

Google Inc. won the dismissal of a lawsuit that accused YouTube of censoring conservative viewpoints on the video platform.

U.S. District Court Judge Lucy Koh granted the defendants' motion to dismiss Prager University's federal causes of action with leave to amend, while denying a motion for a preliminary injunction without prejudice.

Prager University has the option to file an amended complaint within 30 days of this ruling. Prager University had accused YouTube of censoring certain videos the university had uploaded by imposing age restrictions on some videos. Prager claimed this was discrimination based on its political identity and viewpoint.
