Mitsubishi, EDF to invest in distributed power projects in Africa

Mitsubishi Corp. teamed with Electricité de France SA to develop distributed generation renewable energy projects in Africa by investing in the NEoT Offgrid Africa platform.

Beginning in Cote d'Ivoire, Mitsubishi plans to provide solar photovoltaic systems, storage batteries and appliances to households in off-grid areas, and expand its distributed power business in Sub-Saharan Africa, according to a Sept. 10 release.

Additionally, EDF and Mitsubishi are also working together to develop business around electric mobility solutions using batteries, like electric buses and charging infrastructure through NEoT Green Mobility in urban Europe.
