Keywords Studios PLC agreed to fully acquire German dubbing, voice-over and localization services provider TV+SYNCHRON Berlin GmbH for €3.7 million in a cash-and-stock transaction.
The deal's price includes a cash payment of €2.8 million upon completion and €900,000 of new ordinary shares in Keywords Studios that will be issued to TV+SYNCHRON one year after the acquisition.
The Irish gaming developer expects the acquisition to double the scale of its voice recording capabilities for localized video games in Germany.
Thomas Wolfert will continue managing TV+SYNCHRON and its team post completion of the transaction, which is expected Oct. 1, subject to certain conditions.
Berlin-based TV+SYNCHRON specializes in dubbing and localizing content across various media and formats into the German language.
Keywords Studios is also expanding its operations in Poland and Mexico, in response to the needs of its clients in Europe and North America. The company in June acquired Canadian audio description services provider Descriptive Video Works.
