Conico Ltd. said Sept. 9 that it estimated a higher total mineral resource for the Mount Thirsty cobalt-nickel project, the company's joint venture with Barra Resources Ltd. in Western Australia.
Conico's mineral resource estimate in the indicated and inferred categories for the Mount Thirsty project stood at 26.9 million dry tonnes at 0.117% cobalt and 0.52% nickel at a cutoff of 0.06% cobalt, higher than the previous estimate of 26.6 million dry tonnes at 0.113% cobalt and 0.52% nickel.
The company noted that the change equates to a 4.7% increase in contained metal.
The joint venture is progressing a pre-feasibility study on the project.
