Report: Goldman Sachs in discussions for Saudi Arabia equities license

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is allegedly in talks for an equities license in Saudi Arabia, Bloomberg News reported, citing "people familiar with the matter."

The bank has not filed a formal application, and no final decisions have been made, according to the sources.

Ashmore Group Plc and Citigroup Inc. obtained qualified foreign investor licenses in 2015.

Goldman Sachs refused to comment and Saudi Arabia's Capital Markets Authority did not immediately return a request for comment, according to Bloomberg.
