XL Group executive deputy chairman to retire

XL Group Ltd. Executive Deputy Chairman Stephen Catlin will retire, effective Dec. 31.

Catlin notified XL Group that he will not seek re-election at its May 19 annual general meeting. In connection with his retirement, he will resign from all officer positions with XL Group and its affiliates and his membership on all boards and committees of the company's affiliates by June 30, or any other agreed-upon later date.

Catlin will continue to hold the executive deputy chairman role until May 15, after which he will serve as a special adviser to XL Group CEO Mike McGavick until the end of 2017. He will then continue on with the company as a consultant from Jan. 1, 2018, to Sept. 30, 2018.
