Fisher & Paykel files patent infringement case against ResMed in Australia

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corp. Ltd has filed a patent infringement proceeding against ResMed Inc. in the Federal Court of Australia.

Fisher & Paykel alleges that ResMed's AirSense 10, AirCurve 10, S9 and S9 VPAP flow generators, Lumis non-invasive ventilators, ClimateLine and ClimateLineAir heated air tubing and HumidAir heated humidifier infringe four patents held by the company. These products are used to treat respiratory conditions.

Fisher & Paykel is seeking damages and injunctions preventing the manufacture and sale of these products by ResMed in Australia.

The companies have been in similar legal battles in the U.K., the U.S., and Germany.
