Toho fiscal Q2 profit climbs 55.9% YOY

Toho Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended July 31 was ¥32.08 per share, a gain of 55.9% from ¥20.57 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥350.3 million, an increase of 55.9% from ¥224.6 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 0.7% from 0.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew year over year to ¥51.05 billion from ¥49.67 billion, and total operating expenses grew year over year to ¥50.48 billion from ¥49.29 billion.

Reported net income increased year over year to ¥240.0 million, or ¥21.98 per share, from ¥93.0 million, or ¥8.52 per share.

As of Sept. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.36.
