Brazil's Banco do Nordeste names chairman, director of finance

Banco do Nordeste do Brasil SA said its board accepted the resignation of Jeferson Luis Bittencourt as chairman and appointed Ricardo Soriano de Alencar as his replacement.

The board also named Antônio Jorge Pontes Guimarães Júnior as director of finance and credit.

Luis Bittencourt had been serving as Banco do Nordeste's chairman since April 2018 and as a board member since April 2016, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data. De Alencar, meanwhile, was the bank's chairman between April 2016 and April 2018.

Banco do Nordeste is majority owned by Brazil's federal government.
