Airbnb plans to expand its operations in the Asia-Pacific region by adding more properties in Indonesia, The Jakarta Post reported, citing Robin Kwok, Airbnb country manager for Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Kwok said that the country's growing inbound tourism makes it one of the best markets for the company's expansion not just in Southeast Asia, but in the entire Asia-Pacific region. Airbnb currently has almost 38,000 local homes listed on its rental website.

The company has already contacted government authorities and sought to explain how Airbnb could help meet the required demand for accommodation from inbound tourists in the country, she added.

It expects to partner with local groups to enhance brand awareness for Airbnb in Indonesia, according to the May 30 report.
