Vestas to supply 4 wind projects in US, Europe

Vestas Wind Systems A/S has received four contracts to supply wind turbines for projects in the U.S., Greece and Italy, with capacity totaling 648 MW.

Iberdrola SA ordered four Vestas turbines capable of producing 16-MW for a plant located in Viotía, Greece, as well as a 10-year service agreement.

E2i Energie Speciali placed an order for two merchant repowering projects in the province of Chieti, Italy. Nine Vestas turbines will replace 24 old wind turbines producing the same total output of 43 MW.

In the U.S., the Danish wind turbine manufacturer received a contract to provide 230 MW of turbines for a project with a total nameplate capacity of 241 MW. The contract also includes a 20-year service agreement.

The second order in the U.S., according to a separate news release by the company, includes turbines with a total capacity of 359 MW. The agreement also includes a 10-year service agreement. Including previously purchased components, the project has a total nameplate capacity of 400 MW.
