Indian central bank fines United Overseas Bank over noncompliance

The Reserve Bank of India fined United Overseas Bank Ltd. 10 million rupees over its failure to comply with provisions under section 10B of India's Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

The central bank did not disclose further details about the violation, according to an Oct. 3 release.

As of Oct. 3, US$1 was equivalent to 71.06 Indian rupees.
